Dear Community,

It is with great honor that I am able to welcome the formation of the Carmel Valley Dons youth football and cheer program to our community. I am very pleased that a few parents took the initiative to form this league and wanted to use Manchester Stadium as their home field. Building on the strong tradition and success of Cathedral Catholic High School Football, these parents are committed to ensuring that this program meets the needs of developing youth sports.

Our shared goal is to provide students in the Carmel Valley area with a football program that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, physical fitness, and above all, sportsmanship. Cathedral Catholic High School has pledged our support to this group and will work with them where possible to help foster football and cheer within this community.

What is th ............e difference between AYF and Pop Warner?

The biggest difference is that we are global and backed by the NFL. The basic rules are the same for both leagues. AYF allows for a little heavier weights in each division, around 9 lbs. at the beginning of the season. This not only allows a younger heavier player more opportunity to play within his age group, it also allows players to play at their natural weight. We do not allow for a weight increase each week like is done with Pop Warner. Including Torrey Pines Pop Warner in Carmel Valley
